The local press has announced that the landfill site has been acquired by The Woodford Group who, reportedly, specialise in the reclamation and development of brownfield sites.

Further news is awaited.

It has recently been announced that Fenside Waste Management have WITHDRAWN their application for planning consent for the Warboys waste site.  HOWEVER they have intimated that they intend to reapply after a reappraisal of the evidence that they used to back their application. In the meantime, the Public Enquiry will continue in order to allow those who wished to speak to have their voices heard.

FURTHER TO THE ABOVE: - The Public Enquiry has now been abandoned due to Fenside Waste Management’s withdrawal.  It has been announced that all the parties that took part in the appeal against the granting of Planning Permission have been awarded COSTS against Fenside Waste Management. This includes the Parish Council and Warboys Landfill Action Group, who have campaigned tirelessly on behalf of the villagers on a purely voluntary basis. It remains to be seen what the level of damages will be, AND whether F.W.M. will be willing or able to pay.
